Chapter Two

October 3, 2140

"Something has to be done, they can't just round them up like pigs to the slaughter and force them into receiving the vaccine."  Vincent was pacing back and forth in his office at the law firm he worked at.  He was talking to himself, and habit he had developed over the past couple of months.  "They can't do that…" There was only one person he had in mind as his mumblings continued, his younger brother Mark.  Vincent slammed his fist against the window, staring out of it down at the streets.  The dreaded truck, painted black with dark windows, was driving through the streets.  It was common knowledge that if someone went into that truck, they wouldn't be seen again for months.  At the knock at his door, Vincent didn't move.  "Come in."

The door opened and he didn't even need to look up before he knew whom it was, she always wore flats at work while all the rest of the women wore heels.  The door clicked behind her as she closed it and moved beside him.  "What are you thinking about Vinny?"

"I'm going to do something to stop them, I have to.  I can't allow this to continue, it's not right.  It's not fair."  His gaze shifted to the women beside him.  "As a citizen of the United States I can't sit by and watch as they run their genetic holocaust on everyone who is homosexual.  I can't Kelly.  But I don't know what to do."  His eyes went back to staring out the window.

She slipped her arm around his, leaning against him.  "There is only one thing to do Vinny."

"And what's that?"

"Fight back.  Lead and others will follow.  We give them hell."

It was October 3, 2140.  The day that Vincent Wolfe, along with his younger brother Marcus, formed the terrorist group No H8te and gave the government hell.

-7 Years Later-

The alarm blared through the warehouse that was used as No H8te's hideout.  It was large, old, and looked as though it hadn't been in use for at least fifty years, but the members of the organization had fixed it up, even installed the alarm that was now going off.  At the sound of the damned alarm, Vincent, who had been in the shower at the time, was bolting down the stairs a towel wrapped around his waist.  That alarm only went off when there was a problem with one of their agents in the field.  The only ones out besides Zeta and Omega, was Mark.  The string of swears that flew from Vincent's mouth as he got to the ground floor and raced out would not have been suitable for children's ears.

The crowd that was gathering around the entrance was all mumbling indistinctly and Vincent easily pushed past them, receiving some rather strange looks for his lack of clothes, but there was only one thing on his mind, his brother.  The Zeta was sprinting, pushing a stretcher in front of her with Mark strapped down.  Vincent met Zeta's eyes and was running by her towards the infirmary section of the warehouse.  "What the hell happened Zeta?" He growled, not allowing himself to look at Mark's face.

"The plan worked a little too well Vinny," Zeta snapped back.  "The fake explosion?  Yeah caused the doctor to completely freak out.  He must have been in the last one."

Vincent wanted to bang his head against a wall as the doors to the infirmary opened and the nurses they had on staff rushed Mark away from them.  "I promised him that I would keep him safe Kel," he said in a softer voice eyes on the ground, on hand holding up his towel.  "God damn it if anything happens to him I don't."

"You will keep doing what you are doing Vinny, you are the only one that can organize the final operation and you know it.  Mark wouldn't want you to be like this…"  Kelly 'Zeta' Noles was the only person who got away with calling him Vinny.  She looked at him again with her hazel eyes.  "You know you really should go get dressed, I'll stay here and watch Mark till you get back yeah?"

"No."  He walked away from her and up to the nurse's station.  "Can I borrow a pair of scrubs?"  The boy behind the counter nodded and vanished for a second, coming back with a pair of pink scrub bottoms and a white top.  He heard Kelly snort behind him; pink was his least favorite color.  But he took the clothes willingly and went into the bathroom, pulling them on, and draping the towel over his shoulder.  The laugh in Kelly's eyes was apparent when he stepped out of the bathroom.  "Don't you even say it."

"Didn't say a thing," she said with a grin, her hands folded behind her back.

Vincent turned his attention to the nurse approaching them, what was his name?  Cassidy?  Yes that had to be it.  "Cassidy how is he?"  The spikey haired male shook his head, a blank expression on his face, but it failed, there was pain in his eyes.  "What is it?"

"He's not doing well sir.   He needs special treatment, treatment that we can't give him here.  The vaccine, it's attacking his entire body.  We need someone who knows about the vaccine and how to counteract it."  Cassidy met Vincent's gaze with his chocolate brown eyes.  "You need to get someone who helped developed it Vincent."

"And I suppose you have someone in mind?"  He accepted the folder that Cassidy held out to him.  His eyes saw the name and a grin broke out onto his face.  "The apprentice?  Oh dear Cassidy you do like risky operations."  His attention turned to Kelly.  "Call a meeting, I want the heads of each department in the conference room 10 minutes ago."  The order that came from his mouth was sharp and harsh, as it had intended to be.  The girl nodded and left the room.  "You too Cassidy," Vincent said sharply leaving for the conference room, still wearing the scrubs without shoes.

The alarm had stopped and people went back to business as usual, with the younger members of the community back in the makeshift school that they had, and the adults off doing their various jobs.  When they had first found the warehouse there was barely enough room for a hundred people, but as more and more people came seeking refuge and help, they expanded building on more to the warehouse.  Now, there was enough room for everyone in the community.  The conference room was located in the building that they used as a community center.  When Vincent walked inside the room, most of the other heads of the departments were there except for Cassidy and of course him.  They were seated around a circle table and all watched Vincent as he threw the folder down onto the table.

"We're going after Dr. Roland Blane.  Kelly will head the team.  Moss, I need you to prepare some sort of device to prevent the dear doctor from escaping."  Morgan 'Moss' was the head of weapons design, he gave a nod, stood up and left.  "Callen you'll be in charge of containment.  Give him something nice.  As for everyone else, we don't want anyone to realize he is here.  If they found out, there would surely be a riot.  Am I understood?"

"Yes sir."

"Then dismissed," he said and left the room heading back to the infirmary, Cassidy on his heels.  There was no way that he would leave Mark's side, at least not until that bastard was caught.  Vincent would do whatever it took to make sure that the doctor would help his brother, no matter what the cost would be.
And here is chapter two of Vaccine. I hope you like it.

I am really enjoying your story! I think I'm enjoying it so much cause I could see it happening... Especially since they already have re-education classes in most main cities/countries. I hope Mark is OK he seems adorable and I hope he doesn't get to badly hurt... I guess I will just have to wait and see...
